Econ grad to speak

Mark Heurung, alumnus and managing partner for the Columns Resource Group of Northwestern Mutual.

Mark Heurung, a financial services executive and St. Cloud State alumnus, will speak 3 p.m. April 11 in the Cascade Room of Atwood Memorial Center.

Heurung is managing partner of Columns Resource Group, a Minnesota affiliate of Northwestern Mutual, a Milwaukee-based financial services and insurance firm.  

Heurung is a 1990 graduate with a bachelor’s degree in economics. He started his career with Northwestern Mutual in 1990 as an intern. View a recruiting video featuring Herurung. 

Heurung went on to become a financial representative and then field director in the St. Cloud office. He was later promoted to managing director and was named managing partner in 2007.

Heurung will discuss topics including:

• His personal story highlighting successes and failures
• Tips for standing out on the job and becoming your best
• Maintaining success at a high level and what it takes
• Being goal focused and/or versus being results-focused

Hosted by the Business Student Executive Council (BSEC), the event is presented to give students the opportunity to hear from a leading industry professional. It is the BSEC’s goal to have as many students benefit from this outstanding alumnus presentation as possible. 

The event is free and open to all students. Registration is not required.
