Cloud State UniversityThe National Society of Leadership and Success (NSLS) is offering a stress reliever with a feel-good purpose.
The dance fitness event, 9-11 p.m. April 27 in the Quarry at Atwood Memorial Center, will help fund local food-packing for distribution to hungry people around the world.
Zumba is a Latin-inspired dance-fitness program that blends international music and gives participants a great workout.
The event will will feature two rounds each of Zumba and karaoke. Three Zumba-certified instructors will lead participants in 35 minutes of dance.
Cost is $2 to participate in Zumba. Participation in karaoke is via a donation of $1 or more.
Three-fourths of the profits will go towards the Albany Area Hunger Challenge, a local food-packing event held in conjunction with ImpactLives, a Minneapolis-based, non-profit food-distribution organization.
“This is the first year this is being done. We want to make it a big first-year event,” said Amanda Grachek, founder and president of NSLS' St. Cloud State chapter.
